Could the Doom Slayer be the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC?

Last May’s Kombat Pack trailer revealed a bunch of fantastic new DLC characters to be added to Mortal Kombat 11, including Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, and Todd MacFarlane’s Spawn. It also told us there would be two unannounced mystery characters that has led to a flood of speculation. Everyone from The Terminator to Sweet Tooth from the Twisted Metal series has been suggested, and so far we haven’t heard anything in terms of official confirmation.

Sounds a lot like the announcer for Mortal Kombat, doesn’t it? In fact, that’s Steve Ritchie, the original voice of Shao Khan.

Now let’s head back to the Mortal Kombat Shang Tsung reveal trailer from May 31st. At the end, we get confirmation of two mystery characters and hear a chainsaw along with blood splatter. At the time, we thought that this could mean Ash from the Evil Dead series was the character this could reference, but there’s another character that’s very fond of chainsaws.
Doomguy. Better known in modern Doom games as the Doom Slayer.

At the very least, there is going to be some sort of Mortal Kombat announcer voice pack for Doom Eternal's Battlemode, but this could mean a larger collaboration between Bethesda and NetherRealm up to and including Doomguy making his merry way to Mortal Kombat 11.
Or it could just be a big coincidence and Bethesda tapped Ritchie to be there announcer simply because he’s got an iconic voice.
We’re still waiting to find out one way or the other, but you gotta admit, this conspiracy theory has legs.

McFarlane Toys spent the better part of the past week teasing fans about what's to come. One such teaser was for a Mortal Kombat line, with no details whatsoever revealed. That said, the popular toy maker is at the New York Toy Fair this weekend, and they brought plenty of goodies with them, including previews of their lines for Mortal Kombat 11, Doom, and more.
Spotted by Twitter user @FakeEyes22, the Mortal Kombat 11 line consists of Scorpion and Sub-Zero at the moment, but we can only hope that more are planned for later down the road. The Doom Slayer himself will be receiving his own action figure from McFarlane, as well as Alduin from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Alduin will be a Deluxe figure, while the other three will stand at 7-inches tall.

As can be seen in the tweets above, there will also be Vault Suit and Power Armor figures released by McFarlane Toys, both of which will be 7-inches tall. In addition to this, Hollow Knight will be making an appearance from the toy maker, but more on that will be 'Coming Soon.'
When it comes to the other figures previewed at the Toy Fair, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Doom Slayer, and Alduin are all part of the 2019 lineup. The Falloutfigures, however, won't be arriving until 2020. No specifics were provided as to when exactly we can expect to see the upcoming lines, but we're sure McFarlane will be unveiling more info in the relatively near future.
